Key Responsibilities
- Marshal aircraft on the ramp, ensuring safe and efficient movement and parking.
- Operate various ground support equipment (GSE) including pushback tugs, baggage loaders, belt loaders, and de-icing equipment.
- Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail with precision and care, following strict safety and weight distribution guidelines.
- Perform aircraft servicing duties such as lavatory and potable water service.
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-operation checks on ground support equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the ramp, in cargo areas, and around airport facilities.
- Communicate effectively and clearly with flight crews, air traffic control, and other ground personnel using two-way radios.
- Adhere strictly to all company, airport, and regulatory safety and security procedures and protocols at all times.
Required Skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly, stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to safety, security, and strict adherence to operational procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in various weather conditions (cold, heat, rain, snow).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as operational needs dictate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an aviation ground handling or airport operations role.
- Experience operating heavy equipment or specialized ground support equipment.
- Knowledge of aviation safety and security regulations (e.g., Transport Canada).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
