Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming inventory items, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and quality standards.
- Accurately label, store, and organize inventory within designated storage areas, optimizing space and accessibility.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date inventory records using a digital inventory management system (IMS) or database.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts (cycle counts and annual counts) and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
- Prepare and process inventory for outgoing shipments or internal departmental transfers, ensuring proper documentation.
- Assist in identifying slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged inventory items for appropriate disposition or return.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with replenishment orders to prevent stockouts and ensure continuous availability.
- Adhere strictly to all safety and security protocols related to inventory handling, storage, and access.
- Collaborate effectively with various departments (e.g., curatorial, retail, facilities) to fulfill inventory requests and provide timely support.
- Report any damages, defects, or issues with inventory immediately to the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 9 months) in inventory management, warehousing, or a similar supply chain role.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software, databases, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and physical inventory handling.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and moving inventory items weighing up to 25 kg.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in a museum, retail, or a structured warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with cultural heritage object handling procedures and environmental controls.
- Ability to operate basic material handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks).
