Job Description

This is a critical, immediate opening for a compassionate and proactive Council Support Worker to join a dynamic team serving the vibrant community of Hackney, London. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and support plans.
  • Advocate on behalf of residents to ensure their voices are heard and their rights upheld.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation situations, providing immediate practical and emotional support.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and events to promote awareness of available services.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a support worker, social care, or community outreach role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong ability to empathise, build rapport, and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Proficiency in case management and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of local government services and community resources in London.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care or a related field.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults or families in an urban setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Full UK driving license.
