Job Description
This role offers an exceptional entry point for a budding Civil Engineering Assistant eager to immerse themselves in real-world projects right here in Malindi, Kilifi County. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting site surveys, data collection, and preliminary investigations.
- Support engineers in preparing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and project reports using CAD software.
- Perform calculations related to structural analysis, material quantities, and cost estimations.
- Aid in the supervision of on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design plans and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and material records.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and local authorities to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Conduct quality control checks on materials and workmanship under supervision.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract administration.
- Participate in site meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Strong foundational knowledge of civil engineering principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
