Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and vigilant Access Control Officer to join our dynamic security team in Kakamega County, Kenya. This crucial role is the frontline of our security operations, ensuring the safety and integrity of our premises, assets, and personnel. As an Access Control Officer, you will be responsible for meticulously monitoring and regulating access to our facilities, maintaining a secure environment through strict adherence to established protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor access control systems, CCTV, and alarm systems.
- Verify identities of all persons entering and exiting the premises, issuing and retrieving access badges as per policy.
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both internal and external, to detect and deter security breaches.
- Respond promptly to alarms and investigate disturbances, taking appropriate action as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all incidents, visitor logs, and daily security activities.
- Enforce security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance from all personnel and visitors.
- Provide clear and concise directions and assistance to visitors and staff.
- Inspect security equipment and report any malfunctions or defects.
- Collaborate with other security personnel and management to enhance overall security operations.
- Assist in emergency response situations, including evacuations and crisis management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Access Control Officer or in a similar security role (2+ years).
- Proficiency in operating access control systems, CCTV, and alarm monitoring software.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and during emergencies.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures and protocols.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct (Kenya).
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in security management or a related field.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with specific security software platforms (e.g., Genetec, LenelS2).
- Knowledge of local security regulations and laws in Kenya.
