As a Remote UI Designer, you will be instrumental in defining the visual language and interaction patterns of cutting-edge applications and websites. You’ll work closely with product managers, UX researchers, and front-end developers, translating user needs and business requirements into beautiful, functional designs. Your day-to-day will involve everything from conceptualizing new features to refining existing interfaces, always with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering pixel-perfect designs that meet contemporary design standards and accessibility guidelines.
We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just push pixels but understands the ‘why’ behind every design decision. You should be adept at creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD is a must, coupled with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to tackle diverse design challenges across various platforms. Your ability to iterate rapidly based on feedback and market trends will be crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Design intuitive and aesthetically pleasing user interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Develop high-fidelity mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites/apps function and look.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, UX researchers, and developers to ensure design feasibility, consistency, and a seamless hand-off.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and evaluate user feedback to enhance the overall user experience and validate design decisions.
- Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and executive-level stakeholders, articulating design choices with strong rationale.
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards within the team and across projects.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies to ensure cutting-edge design solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven UI experience with a strong online portfolio of diverse design projects.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar industry-standard software.
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction and attention to detail.
- Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, and process flows effectively.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design (UCD) principles and methodologies.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of remote collaboration.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work effectively in a remote team environment with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive design principles.
- Experience with animation or motion graphics design to enhance user interactions.
- Knowledge of design systems and component libraries, and experience contributing to their development.
