As an Animation Assistant, you will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of our animation department. Your work will involve assisting with asset preparation, scene clean-up, basic animation tasks, and ensuring all project files are meticulously organized and managed. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a strong willingness to learn, and the ability to adapt to new tools and techniques quickly. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior animators with in-betweening, clean-up, and basic animation tasks.
- Prepare assets, backgrounds, and characters for animation, ensuring they meet project specifications.
- Organize and manage animation files, assets, and project documentation efficiently.
- Perform quality checks on animated sequences to identify and correct errors under supervision.
- Support the production team with administrative tasks related to animation projects.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to projects.
- Learn and effectively utilize various animation software and tools.
- Help maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliver tasks efficiently and accurately.
Required Skills
- Foundational understanding of animation principles (e.g., squash and stretch, timing, spacing).
- Proficiency in at least one industry-standard animation software (e.g., Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, Blender, Maya).
- Strong artistic and drawing skills, with a portfolio showcasing character design or animation work.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to take direction, learn quickly, and work effectively in a team.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design principles and digital art creation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Animation, Fine Arts, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Experience with basic video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
- Familiarity with concept art, storyboarding, or character rigging.
