Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and management of all sports facilities, including pitches, courts, gymnasiums, changing rooms, and common areas.
- Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity, safety, and optimal functionality of all equipment and infrastructure.
- Manage and supervise a team of facility staff, including assigning duties, training, performance evaluation, and scheduling.
- Coordinate and facilitate various sports events, tournaments, and community programs, ensuring successful execution and participant satisfaction.
- Develop and manage the facility budget, controlling expenditures and identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and protocols, conducting regular inspections and drills.
- Liaise with local authorities, sports organizations, and community groups to foster partnerships and promote facility usage.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally, striving for high levels of customer service and resolution.
- Implement marketing and promotional strategies to increase facility utilization and community engagement.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in sports facility management or a similar operational leadership role.
- Proven experience in staff supervision, team leadership, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of facility maintenance, safety standards, and operational best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial reporting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, or facility safety management.
- Experience with sports event planning and coordination.
- Knowledge of local sports culture and community dynamics in Cabo Delgado.
