Job Description
This is a critical, full-time Night Auditor position at our thriving Thorpe Hamlet location in Norwich. We are urgently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our accounting and front desk team for the overnight shift. As the Night Auditor, you will be the cornerstone of our evening operations, ensuring all financial transactions from the day are accurately reconciled, preparing daily reports, and maintaining the highest standards of guest service during quieter hours. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily audit functions, including verifying all daily postings, transactions, and revenue.
- Reconcile cash, credit card, and other transactions to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare and distribute daily financial reports for management review.
- Manage front desk operations during the night shift, including guest check-ins, check-outs, and reservations.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and resolve any overnight issues or emergencies.
- Process wake-up calls and special requests, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate guest records and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Monitor security cameras and ensure the safety and security of the premises and guests.
- Perform light administrative duties as required.
- Assist with any urgent accounting tasks or system closures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (1+ years) in an accounting, auditing, or front office role, preferably in hospitality.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
- Excellent numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during overnight shifts.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS) like Opera, Fidelio, or similar.
- Previous experience as a Night Auditor.
- First Aid and/or CPR certification.
