Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot a wide range of audio (mixers, microphones, PA systems), video (projectors, screens, LED walls, cameras), and lighting equipment for live events and installations.
  • Perform pre-event equipment checks, maintenance, and staging to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and event coordinators to understand and deliver specific AV requirements.
  • Provide on-site technical support during events, including live mixing, video switching, and system monitoring.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently to minimize disruptions.
  • Configure and manage network setups for AV control systems and streaming applications.
  • Ensure safe handling, transportation, and storage of all AV equipment.
  • Assist in the design and planning of AV solutions for various production scenarios.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and operational procedures.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as an Audio Visual Technician in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating professional audio mixing consoles (e.g., Yamaha, Behringer, Midas).
  • Strong knowledge of video production, including cameras, switchers (e.g., Blackmagic Design, Roland), projectors, and display technologies (LED walls, LCD screens).
  • Experience with lighting systems and control (e.g., DMX, intelligent lighting fixtures).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with clients and team members.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 25kg) and work in various event environments.
  • Valid UK driving license and ability to travel to various event locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CTS, Dante Level 1/2, AVIXA).
  • Experience with live streaming platforms and technologies.
  • Familiarity with network protocols relevant to AV (e.g., NDI, SMPTE 2110).
  • Knowledge of CAD software for event layout and planning.
  • Experience with rigging and stage setup.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
