Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, executing timely repairs to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
- Conduct minor carpentry, painting, and general repair tasks to maintain the aesthetic and functional quality of the premises.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls, ensuring effective resolution of issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Monitor inventory of tools and supplies, submitting requests for replenishment as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, contractors, and vendors to complete projects and maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Implement energy conservation measures and sustainable practices where applicable.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and diagnostics.
- Solid understanding of plumbing systems, including pipe repair, fixture installation, and drainage.
- Competency in HVAC systems, including basic troubleshooting and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
- Fundamental carpentry skills for minor repairs, installations, and structural maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environments.
- Valid Kenyan driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Certificate or Diploma in Building Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS) or computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) software.
- Certification in First Aid and Basic Fire Fighting.
- Proven track record of working independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
