Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures in line with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Monitor changes in regulatory landscapes and advise management on potential impacts and necessary adjustments.
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Oversee and manage the implementation of compliance training programs for employees.
- Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, incidents, and breaches promptly and effectively.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports to relevant authorities as required.
- Act as a primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and audits.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to various departments on compliance matters.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records and documentation.
- Foster a strong culture of ethics and compliance throughout the organization.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or similar role, preferably in financial services or a regulated industry.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant local and national regulatory frameworks (e.g., CBK, CMA regulations for Kenya).
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and discretion.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in compliance (e.g., CCO, CAMS, CRCM) is highly advantageous.
- Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies in Kenya.
