Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures in line with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory landscapes and advise management on potential impacts and necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Oversee and manage the implementation of compliance training programs for employees.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, incidents, and breaches promptly and effectively.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports to relevant authorities as required.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and audits.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to various departments on compliance matters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records and documentation.
  • Foster a strong culture of ethics and compliance throughout the organization.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or similar role, preferably in financial services or a regulated industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant local and national regulatory frameworks (e.g., CBK, CMA regulations for Kenya).
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and discretion.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in compliance (e.g., CCO, CAMS, CRCM) is highly advantageous.
  • Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies in Kenya.
