As a Welder Apprentice, you will embark on a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills needed to become a proficient welder. Under the direct guidance of our experienced and certified welders, you will gain hands-on experience with various welding processes, including MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and potentially TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) and Stick (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled welders in various fabrication, assembly, and welding tasks.
- Learn to read and accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces.
- Perform basic welding operations (e.g., tack welding, simple joint welds) under close supervision.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area at all times.
- Participate actively in all required training sessions and continuous learning initiatives.
- Inspect finished welds for quality, integrity, and adherence to specified dimensions and standards.
- Operate and maintain welding machines, hand tools, and other workshop equipment.
- Support the team in general workshop duties as required to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness and eagerness to learn new technical skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Some prior experience in a workshop, manufacturing, or construction environment (even if informal).
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Enrollment in or completion of a relevant vocational course (e.g., engineering, metalwork, design and technology).
- An understanding of different types of metals and their properties.
