Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum and school standards.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing strategies for improvement.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, share best practices, and enhance teaching methodologies.
  • Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and well-being.
  • Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students, fostering their personal and academic growth.
  • Integrate technology effectively into lessons to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Required Skills

  • TSC (Teachers Service Commission) registration certificate
  • Bachelor of Education degree or a P1 Certificate with a Diploma in Education
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable teaching experience at the secondary school level
  • Proficiency in subject matter relevant to secondary education
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, Google Suite)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
  • Experience with co-curricular activities and school clubs
  • Familiarity with modern pedagogical approaches and blended learning models
  • Proven track record of improving student performance
