Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum and school standards.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing strategies for improvement.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, share best practices, and enhance teaching methodologies.
- Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and well-being.
- Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students, fostering their personal and academic growth.
- Integrate technology effectively into lessons to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Required Skills
- TSC (Teachers Service Commission) registration certificate
- Bachelor of Education degree or a P1 Certificate with a Diploma in Education
- Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable teaching experience at the secondary school level
- Proficiency in subject matter relevant to secondary education
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, Google Suite)
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
- Experience with co-curricular activities and school clubs
- Familiarity with modern pedagogical approaches and blended learning models
