Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and motivated On-site Electrician for an urgent start position in Kenai, Alaska. As an On-site Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components, ensuring compliance with all safety codes and regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly.
  • Comply with all local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations (e.g., NEC).
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices.

Required Skills

  • Journeyman Electrician License (Alaska preferred, or ability to obtain)
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Ability to operate various electrical and hand tools safely
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or vocational training in electrical technology
  • Experience with motor controls, PLCs, and VFDs
  • Certification in specific electrical specialties (e.g., low voltage, fiber optics)
  • Familiarity with local Kenai-specific regulations and environmental considerations
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
