Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to precise measurements.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install various joinery components such as doors, windows, frames, staircases, cabinets, and bespoke furniture.
- Select and prepare appropriate timber and other materials, ensuring quality and minimizing waste.
- Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform on-site installation, ensuring high standards of finish and adherence to project deadlines.
- Collaborate effectively with site managers, other trades, and clients to ensure smooth project progression.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specified standards and client expectations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues arising during fabrication or installation.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Joiner, particularly in bespoke and high-end projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Expertise in operating a wide range of woodworking machinery and hand tools.
- Strong understanding of timber properties and various joinery techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent qualification.
- CSCS card for working on construction sites.
- Experience with CAD software for joinery design (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp).
- First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the construction industry.
