Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, identifying and resolving issues efficiently and safely.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Adhere strictly to all local electrical codes, safety regulations (e.g., CSA, BC Electrical Code), and company policies.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and tests to ensure installations are safe, functional, and meet quality standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, communicating clearly and professionally with clients.
  • Prepare accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other trades on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Stay updated with new technologies and advancements in the electrical industry.

Required Skills

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification in British Columbia.
  • Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a licensed Electrician.
  • Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the BC Electrical Code and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and working in various environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial and industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with smart home technologies and automation.
  • Additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS).
  • Experience with motor controls and PLC systems.
  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
