Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, identifying and resolving issues efficiently and safely.
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Adhere strictly to all local electrical codes, safety regulations (e.g., CSA, BC Electrical Code), and company policies.
- Conduct thorough inspections and tests to ensure installations are safe, functional, and meet quality standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service, communicating clearly and professionally with clients.
- Prepare accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other trades on multidisciplinary projects.
- Stay updated with new technologies and advancements in the electrical industry.
Required Skills
- Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification in British Columbia.
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a licensed Electrician.
- Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Thorough knowledge of the BC Electrical Code and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically capable of performing the demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Familiarity with smart home technologies and automation.
- Additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS).
- Experience with motor controls and PLC systems.
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
