As a Carpenter, you will be instrumental in bringing blueprints to life, working on a diverse range of tasks from foundational framing and structural installations to intricate finishing work, custom cabinetry, and exterior cladding. Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications and calculate material requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plastic, fiberglass, and other materials according to specifications.
  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, frames, flooring, trim, and hardware.
  • Erect scaffolding, ladders, and temporary structures as needed, ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Perform various carpentry tasks including framing, decking, roofing, interior finishing, and cabinet installation.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures, ensuring structural integrity.
  • Ensure all work complies with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including electricians, plumbers, and project managers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in diverse carpentry techniques, including framing, finishing, and rough-in carpentry.
  • Expertise in operating a wide range of hand and power tools safely and efficiently (e.g., saws, drills, sanders, levels).
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and complex construction drawings.
  • Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements, calculations, and material estimation.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
  • Physical strength, stamina, and ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project requirements.
  • Strong commitment to quality craftsmanship and adherence to construction standards.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to job sites in North Delta and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Seal Carpenter certification or equivalent recognized trade qualification.
  • Current First Aid and Fall Protection certifications.
  • Experience with specialized construction software or digital project management tools.
  • Proven experience working on both residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to mentor apprentices or junior carpenters, demonstrating leadership potential.
