Job Description
We are actively seeking a dedicated and proficient Full-Time Machine Operator to join our dynamic production team in Penticton. This pivotal role involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining various machinery used in manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine quality checks on products to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and minor troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime.
- Load and unload materials and products from machines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work orders to determine appropriate machine settings and operations.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and resolve issues.
- Document production activities, including machine performance, defects, and completed work.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment (minimum 18 months)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents (e.g., blueprints, manuals)
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools and measuring instruments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and move materials as required
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and machine interface
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift operator certification
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
- Post-secondary education or trade certification in a relevant field
- First Aid and CPR certification
