Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including General Radiography, Fluoroscopy, CT, and potentially MRI, to a high standard.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment safely and effectively, reporting any faults promptly.
  • Assess and respond to patient needs, providing clear explanations and reassurance during procedures.
  • Adhere strictly to Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) and local radiation protection rules.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to effective departmental workflow.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training initiatives.
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed within the imaging department.

Required Skills

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • Current professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or eligibility for registration (for international applicants).
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a Radiographer.
  • Proficiency in performing general radiography and CT scans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
  • Strong understanding of radiation protection and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PACS/RIS systems.
  • Experience in specialized modalities such as MRI or interventional radiography.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of UK healthcare systems and practices.
