Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Driver to join a bustling warehousing and distribution operation located in Tongwynlais, Cardiff. This is an immediate, full-time opportunity for an individual who is passionate about maintaining operational excellence and contributing to a well-organized logistics flow. As a crucial member of the team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods, playing a pivotal role in the day-to-day success of the warehouse.
We are looking for someone with proven experience in operating various types of forklifts, particularly counterbalance and/or reach trucks, within a fast-paced environment. Your ability to adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, coupled with your keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy, will be highly valued. Key Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance, reach, or other designated forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, move, and stack products and materials.
- Perform daily pre-shift checks on forklift equipment and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Accurately pick and put away stock according to warehouse procedures, using RF scanners or other inventory management systems.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of lorries and containers, ensuring goods are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse operatives, team leaders, and other colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and assist in resolving discrepancies as required.
- Support general warehouse duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive attitude.
Required Skills
- Valid and in-date Forklift Operator license (RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT accredited) for Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck.
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) demonstrable experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Strong understanding and commitment to health and safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and maintaining inventory records.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other MHE (e.g., VNA, Bendi, PPT).
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning technology.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
- Proof of a clean driving record.
- First Aid certification.
