As a Retail Security Officer, you will undertake regular internal and external patrols, monitor advanced CCTV systems diligently, and respond promptly and effectively to any security incidents or emergencies. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the retail premises to deter theft, vandalism, and other illicit activities.
- Monitor CCTV systems diligently, identifying and reporting suspicious behaviour or security breaches.
- Respond quickly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including theft, disturbances, or medical situations.
- Liaise with store management, staff, and local law enforcement agencies when necessary, providing detailed incident reports.
- Assist in the prevention of loss by monitoring customer and staff movements, particularly in high-risk areas.
- Provide a visible and reassuring security presence, offering assistance and information to customers and staff as required.
- Enforce store policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and orderly environment for everyone.
- Complete comprehensive daily reports, incident logs, and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding).
- Proven experience in a security role, preferably within a retail or customer-facing environment.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations and handle conflict resolution effectively.
- Proficiency in basic report writing and documentation.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong sense of personal integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with CCTV monitoring and alarm systems.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Knowledge of relevant security laws and regulations.
