As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your primary responsibility will be the safe and timely delivery of a diverse range of goods to various business and commercial clients. This includes performing essential pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections, accurately completing digital tachograph records, and maintaining detailed delivery documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicles for multi-drop deliveries and collections.
- Conduct thorough daily vehicle checks, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure all loads are secured correctly and comply with weight distribution regulations.
- Complete and manage all required paperwork, including delivery notes, manifests, and digital tachograph records accurately.
- Adhere strictly to all road transport regulations, working time directives, and company health and safety procedures.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, adapting to unforeseen circumstances like traffic or road closures.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service when interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring careful handling to prevent damage.
Required Skills
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
- Current and valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card with a good understanding of regulations.
- Proven experience as an HGV Class 2 driver, ideally in a multi-drop environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Northern Ireland's road network.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A diligent and responsible approach to road safety and vehicle maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- A clean driving licence (minor endorsements considered on a case-by-case basis).
- Experience with various types of delivery loads (e.g., palletised, caged goods).
