Career.zycto is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Full-Time Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant early years setting located in the picturesque Holywood Waterfront, Belfast. This is an incredible opportunity for a passionate individual to contribute to a child-centred environment where learning is an adventure and every day brings new discoveries. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be instrumental in creating a stimulating, safe, and engaging space for children aged 0-5 years. You’ll be responsible for planning and implementing creative educational activities that support each child’s individual developmental journey, from enhancing their communication and social skills to fostering their physical and emotional well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a diverse range of engaging, age-appropriate educational activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, identifying individual needs and next steps in their development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, adhering strictly to safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular feedback on their child's progress and daily activities.
- Create a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive environment that encourages children's natural curiosity and love for learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a smooth running of the nursery, participating in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the nursery setting.
Required Skills
- Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (e.g., NVQ, CACHE, BTEC)
- Demonstrable experience working with children aged 0-5 in an early years setting
- Thorough understanding of the EYFS framework and child development stages
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with children, parents, and staff
- A creative and enthusiastic approach to planning and delivering activities
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and a commitment to child protection
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Paediatric First Aid qualification
- Specialist training in areas such as SENCO or behaviour management
- Previous experience in a key worker role
- A genuine passion for early years education and continuous professional development
