Career.zycto’s Publishing Division is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Music Rights Coordinator to join our vibrant team in Goodyear, Arizona. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in managing the lifecycle of music rights, ensuring proper registration, licensing, and royalty collection for our extensive catalog of musical works. You will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, from data entry and catalog management to liaising with PROs (Performance Rights Organizations), mechanical rights societies, and our global network of partners. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the registration and administration of musical works with various global performance rights organizations (PROs) and mechanical rights societies.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of our proprietary publishing database, including song metadata, writer splits, and ownership details.
- Process licensing requests and generate licenses for various uses, including synchronization, mechanical, and print rights.
- Review and interpret publishing agreements, ensuring compliance and accurate rights management.
- Resolve copyright disputes, clearance issues, and licensing inquiries efficiently and effectively.
- Liaise with internal teams (A&R, legal, finance) and external partners (writers, co-publishers, licensees) to facilitate smooth operations.
- Monitor royalty statements and assist in the reconciliation of income from various sources.
- Stay abreast of changes in copyright law, industry standards, and technological advancements within music publishing.
- Prepare reports and analyses related to catalog performance and rights administration.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Entertainment Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in music publishing, copyright administration, or a similar rights management role.
- Demonstrated understanding of music copyright principles, licensing types (sync, mechanical, performance), and royalty structures.
- Proficiency in music publishing databases and rights management software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with global PROs and mechanical societies (e.g., ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, Harry Fox Agency).
