Key Responsibilities
- Perform installations, servicing, maintenance, and repairs of domestic and commercial gas boilers, central heating systems, and appliances.
- Conduct thorough safety checks and complete all necessary compliance documentation, including Gas Safety Certificates (CP12).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults quickly and efficiently, providing effective and lasting solutions.
- Manage planned preventative maintenance schedules and respond promptly to emergency call-outs.
- Provide exceptional customer service, explaining technical issues clearly and offering practical advice.
- Maintain accurate records of all work completed, parts used, and hours spent.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage company assets, including vehicles, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and in safe working order.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider team, including scheduling and support staff.
Required Skills
- Current Gas Safe Registration (essential)
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience in boiler servicing, fault finding, and repairs
- Comprehensive knowledge of gas regulations and safety standards
- Full UK Driving License (clean)
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in completing digital and paper-based job reports
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a variety of boiler manufacturers and heating systems
- Commercial gas qualifications (e.g., COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1)
- Knowledge of smart home heating controls and renewable energy systems
- Previous experience in a customer-facing field service role
- Additional plumbing or electrical qualifications
