Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee, tea, and other specialty beverages according to Career.zycto's recipes and quality standards.
- Operate espresso machines, blenders, and other coffee-making equipment with proficiency and safety.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and resolving any inquiries or complaints efficiently and politely.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions using a POS system, ensuring accuracy and proper cash handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting coffee bar area, including regular cleaning of equipment, workstations, and seating areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, and assist with restocking as needed.
- Educate customers on menu items, coffee bean origins, and different brewing methods to enhance their experience.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both customers and colleagues.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations, especially during busy periods, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the coffee bar, cleaning, and preparing for the next shift.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role, preferably with at least 6 months of experience.
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, espresso machines, and various brew methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Basic math skills and experience handling cash transactions and operating a POS system.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Food Handler's Permit (or willingness to obtain one upon hire).
- Prior experience in a high-volume coffee shop or cafe.
- Passion for coffee culture and a desire to continuously learn and grow in the industry.
- Experience with latte art and advanced beverage creation.
