Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and emotional support to service users during night hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Monitor service users' mental and physical health, documenting observations accurately and reporting any changes or concerns to the senior staff or relevant professionals.
- Assist with the implementation of individual care plans, encouraging independence and participation in daily living skills appropriate for the overnight period.
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors or crisis situations calmly and effectively, utilizing approved techniques.
- Administer prescribed medication in accordance with policies and procedures, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all service users.
- Complete comprehensive daily logs, incident reports, and other necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues during handover, ensuring continuity of care.
- Promote privacy, dignity, and respect for all service users at all times.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months experience in a mental health or social care setting.
- Demonstrable understanding of mental health conditions and person-centred care principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport.
- Proven ability to manage challenging situations and de-escalate crises effectively.
- Strong observational and record-keeping abilities.
