Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, set up, and dismantle audio equipment including microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, amplifiers, and associated cabling for various events.
- Operate soundboards and audio systems during live events, ensuring optimal sound quality and balance for performers and presenters.
- Perform routine testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of audio and staging equipment to ensure full functionality and reliability.
- Collaborate with event managers, producers, and performers to understand technical requirements and execute event plans effectively.
- Assist with the setup of stage lighting, video screens, and other technical elements as required, ensuring proper integration with audio systems.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations for equipment handling, rigging, and electrical connections.
- Manage equipment inventory, ensuring proper storage, cleanliness, and accountability.
- Provide technical support during rehearsals and sound checks, making adjustments as necessary.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in event sound and staging.
- Transport equipment to and from event venues as needed, ensuring safe loading and unloading.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in setting up and operating live sound systems and digital/analog mixing consoles.
- Strong understanding of audio signal flow, microphone techniques, and acoustic principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently during live events.
- Experience with various types of audio equipment, including wireless systems, monitors, and PA systems.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and work in varied environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative team-oriented approach.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in equipment setup and cable management.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certification in Audio Engineering, Live Sound Production, or a related technical field.
