Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead engineers and producers during recording, mixing, and mastering sessions.
- Set up and tear down microphones, instruments, and other studio equipment.
- Manage and organize session files, audio backups, and digital asset libraries.
- Maintain studio cleanliness and organization, ensuring a professional and inspiring environment.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues with hardware and software during sessions.
- Prepare and manage session documentation, including track sheets and technical notes.
- Assist with vocal tuning, drum editing, and other post-production tasks as directed.
- Run errands related to studio operations and client needs.
- Provide administrative support to the recording department as required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with at least one major Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or Studio One.
- Foundational knowledge of audio recording principles, signal flow, and microphone techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of music theory and instrumentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
- Experience with studio maintenance and equipment repair.
- Knowledge of various audio plugins and virtual instruments.
- Portfolio or examples of personal audio production work.
- Familiarity with network audio protocols (Dante, AVB) is a plus.
