Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent growth initiatives in Kariba, Mashonaland West Province. This strategic leadership role requires an individual who can design, implement, and oversee comprehensive learning strategies that align with our business objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You will be instrumental in identifying skill gaps, developing bespoke training programs, and evaluating their effectiveness to ensure our employees are equipped with the knowledge and capabilities to excel.
As our Director of Learning & Development, you will be responsible for creating an environment where every employee feels empowered to reach their full potential. This includes everything from onboarding new hires to developing executive leadership programs. You will leverage modern learning methodologies, technology, and analytics to create engaging and impactful learning experiences. Collaboration with departmental heads, HR business partners, and senior leadership will be crucial to understand evolving business needs and translate them into actionable learning solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto's strategic goals and operational needs.
- Design, implement, and manage a wide range of learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, compliance training, and employee onboarding.
- Conduct regular training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas for improvement across all levels of the organization.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of all learning initiatives using appropriate metrics and feedback mechanisms, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of learning technologies and platforms (LMS, e-learning tools).
- Coach, mentor, and develop a team of L&D professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the department.
- Collaborate with HR, departmental leaders, and external partners to ensure learning solutions are integrated and impactful.
- Manage the L&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies in learning and development.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and professional growth throughout the organization.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in designing and implementing strategic L&D programs in a senior leadership role.
- Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

- Familiarity with regional talent development challenges and opportunities in Zimbabwe.
- Experience with various Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
