Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and transmit claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims, investigate rejections and denials, and appeal as necessary.
  • Process patient payments, manage accounts receivable, and reconcile financial data.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries, payment options, and financial policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to ensure proper documentation for accurate billing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and billing regulations.
  • Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelines.
  • Generate and analyze various billing reports to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Handle sensitive patient information with the utmost confidentiality and integrity.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a remote setting.
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

  • Excellent understanding of healthcare insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
