Career.zycto is actively seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated individuals to join our team as Night Shift Caregivers in the Montclair area of Oakland. As a Night Shift Caregiver, you will provide crucial support and companionship to clients in their homes, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. Key Responsibilities
- Provide overnight supervision and companionship to clients, ensuring their safety and security.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, as needed during the night.
- Help with mobility and transfers, including assisting clients in and out of bed, using mobility aids, and repositioning to prevent discomfort.
- Administer medication reminders as per care plan and document adherence.
- Perform light housekeeping duties specific to the client's immediate environment, such as tidying up and preparing for the morning.
- Prepare and serve snacks or simple meals as required throughout the night.
- Monitor clients' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate family member or supervisor promptly.
- Offer emotional support and engage clients in calming activities or conversation.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, client observations, and any incidents.
- Respond to emergencies or urgent situations with professionalism and follow established protocols.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of professional caregiving experience, preferably in a night shift setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification (current or willing to obtain).
- Ability to lift and transfer clients safely (up to 50 lbs) with or without assistance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during overnight hours.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification.
- Experience with dementia or Alzheimer's care.
- Familiarity with various mobility aids and adaptive equipment.
- Prior experience working with electronic health records (EHR) or care management systems.
