Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Scheduling Assistant to join our growing team in Guelph, Ontario. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in project management and a talent for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules. As a Project Scheduling Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and timely progression of our diverse projects by providing essential support to project managers and teams.

Your primary focus will be on the operational aspects of project planning, including scheduling tasks, allocating resources, tracking progress, and identifying potential bottlenecks. You will be instrumental in the development and maintenance of comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard software, ensuring all stakeholders have a clear understanding of project timelines and deliverables. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in the development, maintenance, and tracking of project schedules using software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Monitor project progress against baselines, identify deviations, and help prepare corrective action plans.
  • Communicate schedule updates, potential delays, and critical path items to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute various project reports, including progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and resource loading analyses.
  • Coordinate with team members to gather necessary information for schedule updates and resource allocation.
  • Support the identification and analysis of project risks related to scheduling and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including change orders and historical data.
  • Facilitate scheduling meetings and workshops as required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of scheduling processes and tools.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or other project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6).
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and scheduling methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
