Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and sort incoming food donations, ensuring items meet quality and safety standards.
- Stock shelves and organize the food pantry storage areas efficiently and neatly.
- Assist clients with dignity and respect in selecting appropriate food items, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pantry space, including shelves, aisles, and common areas.
- Help with inventory management, including counting and logging items, to ensure accurate records.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and volunteers to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries as needed, which may involve lifting.
- Provide general administrative support, such as answering phones or directing inquiries, when required.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds comfortably.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and empathetic demeanor.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
