Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians and scientists with daily laboratory operations, including sample preparation, solution mixing, and equipment setup.
- Learn and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses following established protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Accurately record and document experimental data, observations, and results in lab notebooks and digital systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Participate in the calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation.
- Manage laboratory supplies and inventory, ensuring reagents and consumables are readily available.
- Contribute to quality control procedures, ensuring the integrity and reliability of all experiments.
- Actively engage in training sessions and continuous learning opportunities to enhance scientific knowledge and technical skills.
- Dispose of chemical and biological waste properly according to established guidelines.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; enrollment in or completion of a relevant post-secondary science program is a strong asset.
- Fundamental understanding of basic scientific principles and laboratory practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
