We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Refrigeration Technician with expertise in HVAC and repair to join our dynamic team in Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair various types of refrigeration systems, including chillers, freezers, cold rooms, and commercial refrigerators.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC units to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Conduct regular inspections and troubleshoot complex issues in cooling systems.
- Replace faulty components, including compressors, motors, thermostats, and other electrical/mechanical parts.
- Handle refrigerants responsibly, ensuring proper recovery, recycling, and disposal in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and parts used.
- Communicate effectively with clients, explaining technical issues and solutions clearly and professionally.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Refrigeration Technician with HVAC repair skills.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in diagnosing electrical and mechanical system faults.
- Competence in using a variety of hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or a related field.
- Specific certifications for handling refrigerants (e.g., F-Gas equivalent in Mauritius).
- Experience with smart control systems and building management systems (BMS).
- Prior experience working with commercial and industrial refrigeration units.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
