Key Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and manage patients with various cardiopulmonary diseases and disorders.
- Administer aerosolized medications, medical gases, and provide ventilator management for critically ill patients.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, and pulmonary function tests.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care, disease management, and proper use of equipment.
- Respond to emergencies, including 코드 blue situations, and provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Document patient care services by completing accurate and timely records in the patient's chart.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment to ensure optimal performance and patient safety.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
Required Skills
- Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Proficient in ventilator management and troubleshooting.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or related field.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Prior experience in acute care or critical care settings.
