As an Import Export Coordinator, you will be the linchpin in our global operations, responsible for overseeing all facets of our import and export processes from documentation to delivery. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing shipping schedules, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring all transactions adhere to international trade laws and company policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of import and export shipments, including documentation, customs clearance, and logistics.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies.
  • Prepare, review, and process all necessary shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
  • Communicate effectively with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing regular updates on status and proactively addressing any delays or issues.
  • Negotiate freight rates and services with logistics providers to optimize costs and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of all import/export transactions and prepare reports as required.
  • Resolve customs queries, duty payment issues, and other import/export-related challenges.
  • Stay updated on changes in international trade laws, tariffs, and regulations impacting our operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of more efficient logistics strategies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in import/export coordination or international logistics.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. customs regulations (HTSUS, CFR), incoterms, and international shipping procedures.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Customs Broker License (CHB) or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience with C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) compliance.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, especially in languages relevant to international trade.
  • Familiarity with specific industry regulations pertinent to our product lines.
