Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Oil & Gas Field Technician to join our dynamic team in Lake Boga, Swan Hill. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and safety of our regional oil and gas operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on oil and gas production equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, pipelines, and control systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various field equipment, utilizing technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
  • Operate and monitor SCADA systems and other control interfaces to ensure optimal operational parameters.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control devices in accordance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct safety assessments and adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance data accurately in compliance with company protocols.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and be prepared to respond to operational upsets and urgent repair needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Field Technician in the oil and gas industry or a related heavy industrial sector.
  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Electrical Technician, Instrument Technician) or equivalent industry certification.
  • Demonstrated understanding of oil and gas production processes, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SCADA systems and PLC programming.
  • Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certifications.
  • High-Risk Work Licences (e.g., forklift, elevated work platform).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of local Victorian oil and gas regulations.
