As a Geology Field Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting our senior geologists and project managers in various exploration, environmental, and geotechnical projects across diverse terrains. Key Responsibilities
- Assist geologists with geological mapping, sampling (soil, rock, water), and core logging activities in the field.
- Operate and maintain field equipment, including GPS devices, drills, and other geological tools.
- Prepare field sites, including setting up safety perimeters and managing logistics.
- Accurately record and document field data, observations, and sample information.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Transport samples and equipment to and from field sites as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in the field and at the base.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Learn and apply various geological techniques and methodologies under supervision.
- Contribute to general site maintenance and support duties as needed.
Required Skills
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and reporting.
- Valid Australian driver's license (manual preferred).

Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of VCE or equivalent.
- A tertiary qualification (Certificate, Diploma, or Degree) in Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related field (or currently studying).
- Basic First Aid certification.
- Experience with 4WD vehicles.
- Knowledge of basic GPS operation.
