Career.zycto is actively seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team in Loveland, Colorado. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for an individual ready to take the controls and play a crucial role in our ongoing civil construction and infrastructure projects. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery in a safe and efficient manner, contributing to excavation, grading, trenching, earthmoving, and material handling tasks that are fundamental to our success.

You will be operating equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, graders, loaders, and compactors, requiring a comprehensive understanding of their functions and maintenance. Your day-to-day will involve interpreting blueprints, following instructions from supervisors, performing pre-operational checks, and ensuring all work is completed according to project specifications and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, graders, and compactors, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment, documenting findings and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Execute tasks such as excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, material hauling, and site preparation according to project plans and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and survey markers to ensure accurate execution of work.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other site personnel to coordinate activities and ensure smooth project flow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
  • Assist with manual labor when equipment is not in use or as directed by the supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment.
  • Proven ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently in various weather conditions and terrains.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
  • Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and survey markings.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with GPS-guided equipment systems.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
