Key Responsibilities
- Ingest, organize, and manage digital media assets, ensuring proper naming conventions and storage.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for video editing software and hardware.
- Perform basic editing tasks including cutting, trimming, audio adjustments, and adding transitions.
- Log and transcribe footage, creating detailed notes for editors and producers.
- Ensure all broadcast content adheres to established technical specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with video editors, producers, and other team members to meet project deadlines.
- Assist in preparing content for broadcast, including formatting and encoding.
- Maintain and archive project files and completed media, ensuring easy retrieval for future use.
- Stay updated with new editing technologies and broadcast industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with industry-standard non-linear editing (NLE) software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Solid understanding of video and audio codecs, formats, and compression techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to editing systems and media workflows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate within a team.
- Time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Familiarity with media asset management (MAM) systems or practices.
- Basic knowledge of broadcast production workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Film Production, Broadcasting, Media Arts, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a broadcast or live production environment.
- Familiarity with motion graphics or graphic design software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Photoshop).
- Ability to speak Portuguese and/or other local languages prevalent in Mozambique.
