Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine lawn maintenance including mowing, edging, weeding, blowing, and aerating.
- Plant, prune, trim, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscaping elements according to seasonal needs.
- Operate and safely maintain various landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, chainsaws, and hand tools.
- Monitor irrigation systems, identify issues, and perform minor repairs or adjustments as needed to ensure optimal plant health.
- Remove debris, litter, fallen leaves, and other waste from grounds to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
- Prepare and treat soil for planting, applying fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely and in accordance with regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines at all times.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, significant grounds issues, or safety hazards to supervision promptly.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, mulching, planting seasonal flowers, and preparing grounds for different weather conditions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (at least 1 year) in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a closely related outdoor maintenance role.
- Proficiency in operating and performing basic maintenance on various landscaping machinery and hand tools.
- Fundamental knowledge of plants, trees, shrubs, and their basic care requirements, including pest and disease identification.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, stooping, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of landscape aesthetics and health.
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and their operation.
