Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities in the field, ensuring strict adherence to project timelines and objectives.
- Conduct regular field visits to project sites, engaging proactively with beneficiaries and gathering both qualitative and quantitative data through various methods.
- Support in organizing and facilitating community meetings, workshops, and training sessions, including all logistical arrangements and participant mobilization.
- Prepare comprehensive and detailed field reports, activity summaries, and progress updates for project managers, meticulously highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including beneficiary lists, attendance registers, and detailed records of resource utilization.
- Facilitate seamless communication and coordination between project staff, local communities, and external stakeholders, fostering strong collaborative relationships.
- Assist in the efficient procurement and equitable distribution of project materials and resources, ensuring proper accountability and transparency.
- Actively participate in baseline surveys, mid-term reviews, and end-line evaluations as required, contributing to thorough project assessments.
- Proactively identify and report any issues, risks, or challenges encountered in the field to the relevant project manager promptly and effectively.
- Provide support in proposal writing and fundraising efforts by contributing valuable field insights, data, and anecdotal evidence.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in community mobilization and effective engagement strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
- Strong organizational abilities and exceptional time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and data management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a diverse team in challenging field conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles, community development, and ethical practices.
- Valid motorcycle riding license and proven riding experience (essential for extensive field work).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Project Management, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience working with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) or community-based organizations (CBOs) specifically in Kericho County or similar rural settings.
- Familiarity with participatory approaches to community development and needs assessment.
- Knowledge of local dialects spoken within Kericho County.
- Experience with mobile data collection tools such as KoboToolbox or ODK.
