Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct engaging and informative tours for individuals and groups across various attractions in New Castle, Kingston, and surrounding areas.
  • Provide historical, cultural, and environmental commentary in an entertaining and educational manner.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all tour participants throughout the duration of the tour.
  • Manage tour logistics, including timing, routes, and meeting points.
  • Respond to visitor inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
  • Adapt tour content and pacing to suit the interests and needs of diverse groups.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local attractions, events, and relevant news.
  • Handle unexpected situations professionally and efficiently.
  • Promote local businesses and authentic Jamaican experiences where appropriate.

Required Skills

  • Fluent in English (additional languages a plus)
  • Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills
  • Deep knowledge of Jamaican history, culture, geography, and current events, particularly concerning Kingston and the Blue Mountains region
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with diverse groups
  • Punctual, reliable, and highly organized
  • Ability to manage groups of varying sizes effectively
  • Valid Jamaican driver's license (Class C or higher preferred) with a clean driving record
