Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and passionate Band Manager to join our dedicated team in the historic and inspiring setting of Dean Village, Edinburgh. As a Band Manager, you will be the central figure in an artist’s career, responsible for strategic planning, day-to-day operations, and long-term vision. You will act as a primary liaison between artists and various industry stakeholders, including record labels, booking agents, promoters, publicists, and legal counsel. This role demands a blend of business acumen, creative foresight, exceptional organizational skills, and a genuine passion for music.

Your responsibilities will span from securing recording deals and tour bookings to managing budgets, merchandise, and digital presence. You will work closely with artists to develop their brand, cultivate their audience, and ensure their creative and commercial goals are met. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive career strategies for assigned artists, aligning with their creative and commercial goals.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with record labels, publishers, booking agents, and other third-party partners.
  • Oversee all aspects of touring, including routing, logistics, budgeting, and performance agreements.
  • Manage artist's financial affairs, including budgeting, income tracking, and expense management.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key industry professionals (A&R, promoters, publicists, media).
  • Coordinate marketing, PR, and social media campaigns to enhance artist visibility and engagement.
  • Provide creative input and guidance on music production, artwork, and branding.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for artists, offering guidance, support, and conflict resolution.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue streams, including licensing, endorsements, and merchandise opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in artist management, A&R, or a related role within the music industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and promoting musical artists.
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong understanding of music industry economics, licensing, and publishing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
  • Deep passion for music and a broad knowledge of various genres.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Arts Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Established network of contacts within the UK music industry, particularly in Scotland.
  • Experience with digital marketing, social media strategies, and analytics for artists.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software for project management and communication.
