Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead engineers with session setup, including mic placement, cable management, and signal routing.
- Operate and maintain recording equipment, ensuring all gear is in optimal working condition.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues with hardware and software during sessions.
- Prepare studio for client arrivals and departures, including tidying, sanitizing, and organizing equipment.
- Archive session files, manage digital assets, and maintain organized project folders.
- Provide administrative support such as scheduling, answering calls, and managing studio supplies.
- Assist with basic mixing and editing tasks under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Ensure client comfort and satisfaction, offering refreshments and maintaining a professional atmosphere.
- Learn and adapt to new technologies and workflows within the studio environment.
- Contribute to studio marketing and social media efforts by capturing behind-the-scenes content.
Required Skills
- Fundamental understanding of audio signal flow and acoustics.
- Proficiency with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live.
- Basic knowledge of studio hardware (microphones, preamps, compressors, interfaces).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Problem-solving aptitude and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to lift and move audio equipment up to 25 lbs.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
- Prior experience working in a professional studio or live sound environment.
- Basic soldering skills for cable repair and maintenance.
