Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Academic Advisor to join our growing team in Long Eaton, Nottingham. This unique role focuses specifically on supporting foreign students and professionals as they navigate the academic and professional landscape in the UK. As an Academic Advisor for Foreigners, you will provide comprehensive guidance, from initial program selection and application processes to ongoing academic support and career planning. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive academic advising to foreign students and professionals on UK educational systems, program selection, and admission processes.
- Guide clients through visa application procedures, immigration regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to their studies or work.
- Offer tailored advice on academic progression, study skills, research methodologies, and examination preparation.
- Assist with cultural integration, providing resources and strategies to adapt to life and study in the UK.
- Counsel clients on career development, including job search strategies, CV/resume writing, interview preparation, and understanding the UK job market.
- Develop and deliver workshops or informational sessions on topics relevant to international students/professionals.
- Act as a liaison between clients and educational institutions, employers, or support services when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
- Stay updated on changes in immigration policies, educational reforms, and labor market trends affecting foreign nationals in the UK.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance support services and resources for foreign clients.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, International Relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in academic advising, career counseling, or student support, ideally with international students or foreign nationals.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK education system, including qualifications, admissions, and progression pathways.
- Familiarity with UK immigration policies and visa application processes for students and skilled workers.
- Exceptional interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
