Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and strategically grow a diverse portfolio of assigned individual and SME clients.
  • Develop and nurture strong, long-lasting client relationships based on trust and mutual benefit.
  • Proactively identify client financial needs and offer suitable banking products and services.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed individual and team sales targets for deposits, loans, and other financial products.
  • Conduct regular client meetings and reviews to ensure satisfaction, address concerns, and identify new opportunities.
  • Prepare and present compelling financial proposals and solutions tailored to specific client requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams (e.g., credit, operations, legal) to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Stay comprehensively updated on market trends, competitor activities, and relevant regulatory changes.
  • Handle client queries and resolve issues efficiently, professionally, and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring full compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in sales, account management, or relationship management, preferably within the financial sector.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) in both English and French.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and consistently exceed ambitious sales targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail.
  • Client-focused mindset with a proactive, results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.
  • Valid driving license and ability to travel for client visits as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of core banking systems and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Familiarity with the local financial market and economic landscape in Mauritius.
  • Previous experience with SBM Bank products and services would be an advantage.
